Default newbe to this sight

Hello everyone, my name is Liz and I'm a transplant from another medical group, which when the authorization went thru for surgery, it came back denied, due to the fact that the surgeon or hospital lost their "COE" (certification of expertize) rating with my insurance. So I just about had to start from scratch all over again. But working with my insurance broker, she helped me a lot and wiped away several tears since I should be home recouping and almost back to work if not back to work already. But never the less, I'm almost ready to celebrate that birthday, I have pre-op next monday the 28 with surgery on Sept 6. Nothing has really hit me yet, since I am a manager at my place of business, I'm just trying to make sure everything will run smoothly while I'm gone. My question which I have been following this forum since July, so feel like I know several of you already, any way my question is beside my robe what should I bring to the hospital. I did go today to Henry's an drop my wad on Vitimans, so I'm set in that department, at least I hope. Any feed back will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome!! I didn't even bring a robe. I brought my pillow, chapstick, magazines, socks, toothbrush, toothpaste and deoderant. I might be missing a few things, but this is basically all I used.

Hey Liz Welcome aboard. Congrats on your re-birthdate. I did bring a robe because I knew I was going to have a lot hangin out back if I didn't bring coverage. I also brought my own washcloth. Working in a hospital I know what lurks in those towels. I also brought my house shoes. You can never go worng with bringing your own pillow. My chapstick was my best friend. A good book is nice but I pretty much slept and walked the whole time I was there. Bring also a list of important phone numbers with you just in case. My prayers are with you... big smiles your on your way.
