I actually had to do the 6 month diet and not the 3 months so you're waaaay lucky there! They submitted my stuff to insurance for approval while I was still in my 5th month, and was approved even though my 6 months wasn't over. So definitely have her do it now!

And everything I had to do in my 6 months is in my siggy. Too much to list it all!

Who is sending your stuff to insurance? Your PCP or surgeon? You won't know til the insurance company calls you lol..... I was out when they called and they left a voicemail saying to call back, so I was nervous thinking something was wrong, only to find out I had been approved when I returned the call.

Congratulations!!!!!! Next will be your surgery date!

As of September 15, 2009 BCBS of Il reduced the diet to 3 months. I saw my doctor in July, August, and September of this year regarding my weight and discussing my diet. She told me during those months that I was doing everything correctly and there wasn't much for her to alter.

That's awesome, hopefully she has all the documentation the insurance company requires...did you see a psychologist? Seeing one was a requirement for me.

I haven't even met with the surgeon yet. I go to my first Bod Pod on Monday. After that I wait to hear from the surgeon. I know that the surgeon is going to write a letter to my insurance but my PCP also needs to submit the diet requirement for that part of it. In that documentation will contain my proof of BMI. The insurance only requires the 3 month diet and BMI info. The surgeon requires the psychologist and the nutritionist. So I'm wondering if I'll know after my doctor submits this info.

LOL... REALLY?!?! You didn't have to have one!!?? It's this egg-shaped "THING" you have to sit in and it measures your body fat vs. your muscle. I have to have it done Monday, 6 months after and 1 year after surgery to make sure that I'm losing weight correctly. I have NEVER in my life been so antsy for something to happen! To make it bad enough... the nurse didn't call me back for the insurance fax number so I'm going to call them in the morning and make sure they get it.

Hahaha NO I didn't have to have that done...that sounds umm....weird as heck lol. What happens if you're not losing weight correctly!?

What helped me throughout my process was thinking "I'm gonna get there eventually, this IS gonna happen!" Helped me....kinda...
