I should have an answer by this afternoon
OK so I have been waiting 2 weeks now for my surgeon referral from my PCP which had to be authorized by my medical group. It usually takes 5 days but they had to re submit the request with a different surgeon. Well I called this morning and she said it is still pending and I should call back about 3 and they will have the answer. OMG I am so nervous. I want this so bad and everyday it seems more and more real. Once I get the referral my surgeons office does all my pshyc, nutrition, and blood work in one appt and I should have surgery in about a month or sooner depending on their schedule. How can I possibly work today when I keep staring at the clock..lol Thanks for listening..

Update
So I called at 245 because 3 seemed too long to wait..lol She was so nice and I really like the girl with my medical group that is helping me and basically what she said is that it is still pending. Then she put me on hold for like 10 mins which seemed like a hour and said I should have my PCP call and they can give them more info and she couldn't go into to much detail since I am just the patient. So I called my PCP and had to leave a message and then I also made a dr appt for Thursday in case I don't hear from her tomorrow and I am going to have her call while I am there...lol Oh and then the girl with my medical group said I can always call tomorrow and see if the status has changed. I just keep telling myself pending is not as bad as flat out denied. I will be making my phone calls again at 8am sharp tomorrow. The waiting is the worst part but I am in for the long haul so a few more days I can handle.

I'm right there with you - I have completed my blood work, EKG, and psych and nut evals and I am waiting (impatiently) for the surgeon's office to call to set up my second consult. I email the patient coordinator every day. Bless her heart, she is really nice and never seems to get annoyed with my pestering.
You're right, though - you're in this for the long haul, so a few days/weeks of waiting is not so bad!
