Question trueresults to bypass

So I started my journey with going to TrueResults. I love their team. After going through the 3 month supervised diet that is required by my insurance (aetna) i found myself wanting to get they bypass instead. I think what it really boiled down to for me was that knowing you could cheat around the band and cake and icecream go down easier...I probably would. I think I would be more successful with the bypass.

My insurance requires that i go through a specific doctor who was not a part of their team, but more or less someone they send patients that have to have a specific dr. Though checking him out, i know he does more than one procedure.

Now I am thinking I just spent the last 3 months with trueresults and they just sent the paperwork into the insurance company who hasnt got it yet btw, and i was told that if the name of the surgeon doesn't match his name i will have to go through the 3 month supervised diet again. Don't get me wrong i am willing to do it again, but if i can avoid it... man that would be nice.

Any thoughts?

I don't understand why you would have to go through the three month diet again. Are you saying you have to do the diet with the doctor that is going to perform your surgery? Usually that is not the case. Most people do their supervised diet with their PCP, not their surgeon.

I know. But what I'm saying is, usually you do not have to do the diet with the person/place that is doing the surgery. So switching should not be a problem.

Thank you.

I did talk to my insurance company and they set my mind at ease. They verified that as long as the paperwork has been submitted, as long as it's a supervised diet it doesn't matter. I can change surgeons as long as that surgeon is covered under my plan and as long as that surgeon gets the documentation from my supervised diet to send in.

I am so confused and frustrated. I have been looking forward to having surgery for so long and I had it set in my mind that I was going to have surgery in October, middle of November the latest. I have also thought that I would be willing to wait if I have to. I want to make sure I get the best solution for me.
