Default Anyone with Tricare Prime go through UCLA?

Hi all,

So I have my referral from my Dr. So I can have an initial consultaion with the Bariatric surgery team at UCLA. I attended their seminar and the dr said Tricare is pretty straightforward. So I'm excited.

The idiots at managed care at Port Hueneme medical center have sat on my referral for a week now...but after my husband dealt with them it was faxed off to tricare for approval. I'm not worried about getting approval for the initial consultation, but I am worried about being approved for surgery. I'm right at a 40BMI...and have no comorbids. So hopefully the insurance company will see it is cheaper to just give me the surgery than to ask me to get sicker before they will treat me.

So basically, here is my question, I apologize for rambling.
Has anyone gone through tricare and had surgery done at UCLA? If so, how was your expierence? How did things go?

Thanks!
Heather
