Default Help please

I am very interested in getting this surgery, however i do not have insurance. I will be purchasing insurance on my own. Any suggestions on which company is the easiest to get approved and has anyone done this?

Have you considered purchasing the surgery instead?

I started out with Kaiser then went to Blue Shield HMO then went to Blue Cross PPO before I finaly got approved. Check with the bariatric center you wish to go through to see if they have any suggestions. They are the ones that deal with insurance the most and could give you a better idea.
Good luck,

Chris

I live in the state of California. I am not paying for the surgery. I am going to be paying for my own insurance since my job doesn't offer insurance.
Thank You for your replies!

I have blue shield of california and the approval was very easy. Sometimes WlS is not covered when you purchase insurance on your own. Good Lluck

If I recall correctly, there are many insurance companies that do not cover WLS surgery on individual policies. So do your research carefully. You may want to reconsider just paying for the surgery on your own.

Hope you can find something! I know I couldn't even get approved for non-group insurance after college because of my weight. So frustrating!
