Default Anyone a recent Self Pay?

I will be a self pay for my RNY. My insurance covers Viagra, penile implants, lasik surgery, and $10K towards adoptions, but $0 towards potentially life saving bariatric procedures.

Anyway, if you were a self pay or work at a bariatric practice, can you give me some idea of what I can expect the entire procedure to cost? Thanks in advance for any help with this---

How much did your surgery cost?

This link will show the cost of surgeries from all over the country and internationally. Some were private pay and some were insurance.

I was private pay and my cost was like 23K everything included.

Hope this helps.

LMAO. I don't mean to laugh, but how amusing is that sht? You can pay $5 for viagra to keep the peen up, but a drug to save your life will cost you $200/pill. Blows my mind.

Thanks. It is hard and trying, but well worth it. I have to agree with Jersey about the BS insurance companies and the role they play with our lives everyday. Its ridiculous! All the BS hoops these people have to jump through just to get denied should be a crime. I dont know why I have insurance, because I pay for every damn thing. High co pays (25 bucks less then the office visit) and high prescriptions (in some cases it like 10 bucks less then the entire prescription) I hate the insurance companies. I wouldnt piss on them if they were on fire.

Anyways, didnt mean to vent. Again I hope this helps you and if you have any questions just ask.

I have to agree with Erik also....I HATE insurance companies. But on the other hand, I'm glad at least we have insurance to cover "some" things for us.

I had to fight for over 1 year for to have RNY surgery. I also had HB and was a Diabetic (type 2), the insurance company still denied me. In the long run, I won, but I also had to hire an Attorney to fight the fight for me.
