so far i dont think i am going to have to do a supervised diet- however they did make me give them a very detailed list of my entire diet history. It seemed like a positive thing that they were all pretty recent attempts. When I talked to the surgical coordinator today I asked her to go over my remaining steps and she said that after they get my psych eval and i go to my appt on the 24th they will submit to the insurance and once I am approved we can schedule a surgery date. . . So it seems that If I were required to do a 6mo diet it would be before they scheduled the surgery right?

Hi ladies,
I have blue shield of ca PPO and I didn't need a 6 mnth diet. They only asked for the psych eval and a few other tings. Everything will be done as of today so I only need to wait for the psych eval to be in to the surgeon which I was told would be next week. As far as approvals, I have been hearing it could take as little as two days. Good Luck

I also have Anthem BCBS. I had no co-morbidities and a BMI of 41.2. I was approved within three days. No 6 month diet required.

I think I am where you were. My bmi is 42 and no co morbidities. I hope my approval comes as quickly as yours did.

I have Empire BCBS and mine came back in 2 hours. I have BMI 41. Lets hope yours is just as quick. Good Luck

i went to my appt yesterday and they finally submitted to the insurance, YAY!!!!! so we will see how long they really take...
