Yeah, your right have to wait and see. I think that's cool that you are going to do it - I will too if I need to. So, the Panniculicomy only takes the skin away, so then we would probably need to go somewhere else to have the tummy tuck? I have never seen myself skinny at least not since I was a child so the funny thing is that I am scared I will not like the way I look - I know that sounds crazy huh? I worry about stupid stuff like will I loose all my breasts - not that they are all that, but I've gotten used to my D cup -lol Will I like the way my face looks without my fat cheeks...goodness I know I need to stop obsessing it is just silly.

Fitgirly, I just hope I can look as healthy and great at you do! I have read alot about the surgery and some of the pictures I see are scary people start to look sick- not be mean or anything it's just scary.

So, anyways how is everything going? You are probably getting ready to sport your cute clothes this summer luck you!

I'm currently in week 11 and I am sooooo over these classes. I love the info they teach but so many people aren't taking it serious enough. Ever week we go over food logs again and again. Then nutritional labels again and again. I feel like I should be in the AP Options Program.

howdy, I am going thru the program in Fremont Kaiser, Northern Calif. There is a lady on TT named something like mburgs. She is going thru the options program in Southern Calif Kaiser. Send her a PM and I'm sure she will chat with you as to the doings down South.

Good luck to you.

I'm afraid that's going to be me! When I went to the info session there were people asking why they couldn't make the pouch larger so she could eat a full meal still. I asked when I could start losing and if it was possible to lose too much and disqualify myself from surgery

I see Dr. Nanda in San Juan Capistrano on Friday for my official interview for the program and am thankfully scheduled to start in the July class.

Are u in southern CA?

yes I am in Long Beach. I am in week 14 now through Bellflowe/Orchard. It is killing me. I know I should just worry about me but when these people are wasting my time it makes me furious. Anyway. The info is great. I really wish they did less pre-op and more post op.
I guess they are getting ready to change the program though. More people need help after.

I started last week and I should probably stop talking about them in case they find u here

I think there are a few people that are really ready and have read up, but there are some resentful for having to be there, people who haven't researched, and people who sort of flat out say they are checking the classes out like it's no biggie which made me mad thinking of the others like me that are on a wait list and of how I've been waiting (not long!) to get in.

I guess that's par for the course across the board for all WLS candidates though.

Default Kaiser waiting list

*I got my referral on 6/22/09

*I went to Orientation July 7th,09 in Riverside and Filled out a packet they give you there. During the orientation they said we would be put on a waiting list for our classes. We also had to loss 20 pounds before surgery.

*Today 7/30/09 I got my letter saying I am on the waiting list for my classes.

*I called yesterday 8/4/09 and asked where I was on the list for my classes and Deborah the RN said they would call me and let me know! That’s where I am at right now… make sure you take a list of all over the counter drugs and diets you have tried.

Default Waiting Game

I have been trying to get approved since september, right after it was a requirement to have a 50 bmi with no co morbidities. They finally change that to 40 bmi (national standard) so now I qualify the doc said i will be put on the waiting list. I haven't got the letter yet telling me that i am on the waiting list but the nurse confirmed it.

Yeah, I just had my surgery at Richmond at the end of June Quite honestly, the time is up to you and how fast you lose that 10%. 10% is a general rule but the surgeon gives you the magic number at the first surgical consult. Once you reach goal, it goes really fast so start now since you have had your official starting number recorded at the orientation. When I reached goal they said they could do the surgery in 2 weeks but I pushed it out to 3 because of summer vacation. My doc was Dr. Im and I like him a lot
