I am 8 days away from my surgery…I still can’t believe it. I gave Sabrina my phone number and I will promise you that she is one of the ones I (or hubby) will be texting to update you all. I feel like I have a great support system waiting for me to succeed!
Sparkles,

Just wanted to say good luck and you will be in my prayers.

Default Update

Hey ladies,

So, I just wanted to give you an update. I finally went to my orientation today. It was really informative and interesting. I had to fill out about a 20 page packet on my family history, weight loss attempts, etc. I think the craziest question was how much I weighed in Kinder - who remembers that? Anyways, so the not so good news is it is going to take 3-4 months to start the 24-week classes, so that kind of bummed me. The doctor said it can be 10 - 12 months before we actually have the surgery - seems like forever away. However, the 10% required weight loss starts with todays weight, so that's cool. The doctor even offered to provide appetite surpressants if we qualify. So I turned in my packet so now I will just be waiting to get put in a class and still doing my healthy eating. Well, thanks for your continued support. Wishing you all well and success!

Jeweld do they say why it would take 3-4 months before you start your class? That seems excessive. Are they backed up?

God love your heart Joy. I was where you are now a couple of weeks ago. I was terrified I would not lose any weight because I ate, but I did. I lost 6 1/lbs and I ate. I discovered I could eat and loose weight. I don't know how far this will carry me but its working so far for my 6 months anyway. I eat when it get really bad. I put it off as Long as I can. Some times it passes but when it dont I eat. I just make good choices. Look in your supermarket for foods that are filling but low cal for the hump times.

I have even been eating steaks and dinners with my husband but I eat only half and give the rest to the dogs. lol. Keeps me from feeling deprived. At night when I get the munchies and I just have to have something I eat Orval's 100 cal microwave packs. Those are plenty and filling. I eat when I'm hungry I just make better choices. Like instead of that piece of cake I have a yogurt or a shake. A bowl of risen bran with a skim milk and a little splenda is very filling. oat meal, Raisins and pecans Mmmmmmm. There is these black packages in the freezer section of Chinese food called Tai*Pei. be careful. Don't get the ones with rice. Not only are they GROSS but they're higher in calories. I get the General TSO's Chicken. The whole carton is only 140 cals and it delicious, filling and hearty. Spicy but hearty. lol.

Hi guys, I am been lurking around on here, but not really posting that often. I am at the end of the 5th month of my 6 month diet history. I have an appointment with my surgeon on June 22nd. I should be sooo happy that I am getting close to getting a surgery date, but I am so freaking depressed. I don't know why I am in such a funk. I am just so tired of being the size I am and tired of being fat and unhealthy. My hubby and friends keep asking what is wrong, and all I can say is I am fat, tired, my blood pressure is out of control and I am depressed. I have been working a butt load of overtime to pay for all the cost of my surgery (3160) that was due before June. I know my surgery will prob be in Aug or Sept depending on if I am approved, and getting A FMLA from work
I really don't know why I am posting this because it prob doesn't really make much sense. I guess I am just looking for some insight to why I am feeling this way.

Roni I totally understand how your a feeling. I am tired of looking in the mirror, tired of looking at my clothes and feeling like a whale. The payment for my surgery is due today and I don't have surgery until July. I can't tell you it will go away, or it's gets easy but you have to get through this last month to get the prize. We will get to the other side. Just don't give up. You are not alone.

Ooooohhh My, why so long? That is ridiculous. Wow there must be a long waiting list. I would call the surgeon office and see if someone cancels so you can possible get bumped up earlier. However on the brighter side of things you have a longer time frame to lose your 10% weight loss. Good luck Jeweld and know that we are here to support you every step of the way.

Wow Tess, where have you been the last 4 months with all of these good food tips.(geez)....I wish I would have known about this before I started the liquid diet. Now, when I get hungry I just grab a shake. I got to be truthful, these shakes really makes you lose the weight fast however it gets old fast. I am actually missing chewing so I ask my surgeon is there anything I can eat. He gave me the go ahead to eat a chicken breast from time to time. So I was excited about that.

Roni, I know EXACTLY how you're feeling. I was feeling this way about a couple of weeks ago and then after a few days it goes away when I think about the surgery. Just try to continue to focus on what lies ahead and think about the body you're in NOW will be gone forever in a few months. I think this entire process is a LIFESTYLE change. I am now training my mind to think about thinness and what I can accomplished when that happens. If you ever need someone to talk to please PM and I would love to give you some encouraging words!!!!
