So where are you with the process? I guess I am a little confused.

I have the appointment to set the date this coming Monday! I am scared and excited all at once. If you knew then what you know now, would you have chosen the lap band????

No, I woud not have chosen the Lap band. With my situation the decision for the RNY is better for me. I have over 200lbs to lose and this is the right choice for me. Do you prefer to have your surgery in July or August?

Good luck Meg and I know it's exciting getting started on the 6 month journey. Please let us know how it goes.

I'm still hear been reading just haven't had a lot of time to comment. Great Pics CG. Your so Blessed to have that opportunity. I'll bet you had a blast. Ready, Heard anything yet? I said a prayer for ya.

Joy, I have Humana too. Lets hope they aprove us swiftly. lol. Do you check into MyHumana from time to time? I cannot wait to go there and see it approved. Two more weigh ins for me. Ready, I cant wait to hear your surgery date. I'M with you. I want the RNY bypass. I know three people who have had the LB in the past three years that have had to turn around and have the Bypass anyway. No way. I'm not going though all this just have to have go back and have them do another surgery. I want this over and dome with, besides I think it will work best for me.

My Surgeon says the lap band has worked best for him with younger patients.

I guess if I want it bad enough, I will gladly wait 6 more months.
I only had to do a 2 week diet. Don't worry.

Yeah, I agree Tess that no other surgery is for me except the RNY bypass. I know a lady that was close to my size and she has only loss 60lbs in 3 1/2 years. That is just way toooo slow for me. I would like to see more of an impact in a faster time frame and I made that clear with my surgeon. He was very clear with me also by saying the RNY would be the best for me. Well I am up bright and early this morning. For some reason I have not been able to sleep. I have not heard anything yet but I will be on the horn this morning again.

Any diet your Dr puts you on has nothing to do with the 6 month diet. The 3, 6, or 12 month diet is a requirement of the insurance company. Everyone needs to check with their insurance company prior to going to your Dr. to see what their requirements are. Some people are lucky and have no diet requirements to be met by the insurance company. We all have a pre-op diet from the Dr. Thats totally seperate.

Ready, Keep us posted. Post it in here before you post it out there.
