I finally had my appointment with my surgeon on Monday. I was really impressed with him, and so was my husband. He was impressed with my knowledge of the surgery, and the questions that I asked him. I have to be on a 4 week liquid diet before surgery. My file will not be submitted to the insurance until after July 1st. I was kinda disappointed, but the insurance coordinator explained that it has to be six months and I started my diet history in Jan so my file wouldn't be faxed until July 1st. I know that is just next week, but I wanted it to be sent off the day after my appointment.
Anyway, I have my appointment with the cardiologist on July 8th for cardiac clearance, and my appointment with the pulmonologist is on July 30th. That is the last of the hoops that I have to jump through for my insurance company. The insurance coordinator said they usually get an answer back pretty quick from my insurance company. She said I should know something in 2 weeks after the papers are submitted.
Dr. Scott started my on Lexapro to help with anxiety, and told me I needed to start an exercise program before surgery. I have to work out 40 mins a day 5 days a week.
I worked last night (3rd shift), came home and walked on my treadmill.

OooOOHhh Myyyyy Roni the finish line is right around the corner for you too. My papers have already been submitted but I am still going to my last weigh in just in case. Good idea to increas the exercise and cardio. I must admit I have been slipping in this area.

Gosh I can't believe yours is already sent in. My surgeons office told me I had to wait until July for my papers to be faxed...so it would be a complete six months. Great news for you..now all you have to do is wait.
I have to wait another week before my file even gets faxed. I am just so ready to hear them say that I have been approved.

I wonder why my dr. only mentioned me doing a 3 week diet prior to surgery??? Lots of you guys have been doing 6 mos. diets. Now I am afraid he will lay that big surprise on me Monday 1 year after we first met. I have had EVERYTHING else done for three months now, it wouldnt seem fair to me. I guess if I want it bad enough, I will gladly wait 6 more months.

It is based on your insurance requirements and not the doctor. You might want to call your insurance company and reconfirmed the criterias. Have you submitted your paperwork yet?

Ready I was told by my nut that it usually takes a week or 2(5-10 business days) to find out about the approval. Its to your benefit that the insurance company accepted your case before the final weigh in. It will speed things along for you. Because of the mistaken early submission of my case, Humana is not/will not accept my case until its totally completed.... the 6 month diet completed. Everything is set for me the only things lacking are the 3 more weigh ins, my stress test next Tuesday(the events of today really make me want that test now). Ready you'll get approved. Girl start stretching for your HAPPY DANCE!!!!
