Right now its just frustrating. I want to stay on top of this but not getting much info. And to add every situation is different. So its hard to gauge where your at.

Do you know what BCBS states do not require the 6-month diet or maybe where I can find out. I am willing to do the 6-months as this first month flew by.

Thanks again
Have you called BCBS customer service and asked for your Bariatric Criteria Sheet? They can fax it or mail it but it takes 24 hours sometimes. Anyway that will have all your requirements on it and if they will allow you to bypass the 6 month diet.

Bob - I have to agree with Sparkles and say I think you should continue with your 6 months so you can have it in yout pocket. Waiting 6 to 8 weeks is a long time to get an answer. I wish you all the luck and keep us up to date on what happens.

My best TT buddies - Sparkles and Tess you both have been great and dedicated. We are almost half way through the month. Let's cheer for Tess and pray that her appointment goes well.

Your telling me, I have a count down on my phone for Wednesday for my consultation. We have the kiddos all squared away with my parents for th day. Remember I am traveling one way 3 1/2 hours! So I am getting ready! We have to leave our house Wednesday to be at my parents by 5:00 a.m. on the Road no later than 5:15 a.m.

Hey Guys,
First let me say this six months is going by a lot quicker than I thought. Secondly, I totally understand the break up thing. I may be there shortly. And lastly is it wise for me to go to the WLS seminiar now or should I wait until I am closer to being done with the six month thing?
Love to hear all of your comments and responses. It makes me feel like i'm not alone

You gals (and guy!) are doing well.

Just a little update for something you may want to keep in mind toward the end....I talked to my surgeon's office this week as I'm now about 2 weeks from finishing my 6 months. I sent a fax first listing the items they should have already and the dates of all my pre-op visits (ie. one bullet: Pysch visit, Dr. X, 2/10/09) and I included the two things I need to finish and also a few questions. I got a reply the next day via phone call and found out that they had not recieved my clearances yet from both the Pulmonary doc and the Cardiologist. I had both of these visits the beginning of Feb. so she's going to follow up. Just pointing this out as I've seen many delayed because they found out after their 6 mo. were up that some piece of paperwork was missing...then another week waiting for it to come in just when you thought you were done. So call your last month and make sure they received it all.

I'm getting ready to call the surgeon's office again now...I found out the scheduler may be able to give me a tentative date even before I'm done, we'll see! Have a great weekend all! -BG

Hey There Dena,
Go to the Seminar! Go don’t wait. Use the 6 months to get all of your other requirements done. They can be conjoined. For example I did my psych eval during my 6months instead of waiting until after. I am going to meet with my surgeon for a consult now instead of waiting for the 6 months to be over with. You want to end your 6 months by submitting paperwork not having to jump through more hoops causing more time to wait!

OoOo my goodness you are so close from being done! I am so excited for you! Way to be so proactive with your paperwork. I am glad you caught that and now are being able to get those things inline. I think I have been a little OCD with documentation but still I keep even the fax confirmation sheets lol just to make sure I have time/date stamps on things!

That's hysterical (I keep my fax receipts too)! I did get through to the surgeon's office, but I won't get my date until April 1. The good news though is she confirmed I'll definitely be banded mid April! Yay! I have two kids graduating (college & HS/Beg. of May & June), so this was welcome news as we have lots of company coming and parties to plan. I'm so glad my BCBS insurance approves so quickly (72 hrs. here).

Yay I am not the only one that does that! You may have already answered this but what BCBS do you have? I have BCBS too out of MI. Congrats on graduting kiddos! That is great.
