I am approved! I did my insurance required 6 month diet with my PCP...I also had to provide proof I have been overweight for at least the last 2 years. I did that with my medical records...

That was it...My surgery was approved within a few days of BC/BS getting the paperwork.

Woo-hoo!

I have it scheduled for January 20th! Woo-hoo!

Requirements for BC/BC MN are a BMI of 40. Proof (such as doctors records) that you have had a BMI of 40 for at least 2 years. Co-morbidities (HP-Diabetes_ect) and the BMI can be 35 (I think)...and do a 6 month physician supervised diet.

Dr. Davis' office called me today...I have completed all required test except the cardiac (which I will immediately schedule)....

They will contact the hospital and reserve the first available date they have in January..She will call me on Wednesday to let me know the date of surgery! I hope she calls!!

After all this time I can finally see the light....If I had known last March that it would take the better part of a year to get to the operating table I may not have bothered driving 3 hours for the orientation....I AM SO GLAD I DID!
