Does anyone have any experience dealing with Preferred Care in Rochester, NY? Would be interested in hearing from you about how they handled things.

I have preferred care. It's very difficult to get an answer to questions. Have you done the 20 visit weight and nutrition program at the U of R yet?

My doctor had me do a 6 month (in total) weight management/exercise/support group (Healthy Motivations) at the Unity Cardiac Rehab/Diabetes & weight management center on Lee and Lexington.

I HOPE I don't have to go thru more! lol

I was told with Preferred Care, the 20 visit program was manitory before they would even consider surgery.

I finished mine May 6th, started at Highland Nut 5/28 .. I am hoping for surgery in August .. we'll see

I can only hope not! Did Preferred Care tell you this?

Some people in the support group I am in also have Preferred Care, and they have said that the program we were in is also allowable by Preferred Care. But, we shall see.

Maybe that is an acceptable substitute, seeing as my doctor, the nutritionist, and the weight management program he sent me to, are affiliated with Untiy , and not Strong.

Too bad Unity doesn't offer bariatic surgery. Unity Park Ridge is maybe 5 minutes from home. *sigh*
