than you need to get a review nurse on the phone at your insurance company. Thats what i did. My appeal was denied but when i called she looked into saying hmm i did my 6month diet, nutrition, PT etc... and wella she had the MD sign off on it. So hopefully that'll do something

I didn't think that the insurance company would let you talk to a "review nurse", thanks for the idea......I'll try it. Heck, I'll try anything at this point.

Hang in there hon! I know it looks bleak and you're frustrated at this point, but don't give up! I had problems with my insurance too, although a totally different situation. It took me a while but I was able to work through it and finally have surgery. Have patience (easier said than done!) and hang in there!

Not yet. I have been moving my store this past weekend, we are going "online" only. The economy really stinks here.

I'm going to call my insurance company on Tuesday. I have a load to do tomorrow.

It would seem getting aproval is some what a right of passage. I am on the edge of the bmi limits at 40 BMI and I am having to convince PCP that I need this WLS. Ive been large since I was a child and have Hbp and Cholesterol , and a curvature of the spine . Now the PCP sys try diet and excercise. Hello ....Im 48 yrs old Ive tried them all , Hell Ive been hypnotized . acupuntured, tried shots of who knows what ....Im at my whit's end.

So do I doctor shop ? Or fade away and accept I will always be FAT and accept it ? Im sorry for the rant

I'd opt for the 'doctor shop'. When I talked to my doc about it, he tried to tell me to go back to WW, exercise, yada yada yada. He's been my PCP for 30 years and I looked at him and said, "you know what I've been through, you know that's only temporary", and he told me that that's what he believes, but if I really want to do this, that he'd support me. He wrote a nice letter and the surgeon's office called me within a couple of days.

Do not accept the fact that you're always going to be fat. There are so many on this site that have gone through this, who've been obese all their lives and have achieved their goals. You can too. I'm so tired of hearing (thin) people say that we are the way we are because we eat too much. Well, duh, why is that? There is more going on with us than just pure indulgence and lack of control. We need that extra tool to help us. We deserve a good life just like everyone else.

Keep trying. Find someone who will listen and understand, and good luck!
