Thumbs up Finally, the Insurance Co. Paid Up!

It's been four months since my surgery, and even though I was pre-approved for GB and all the associated hospital costs, my insurance denied my claim after I had it done. For the last few months I've been getting collection calls and letters about my "grossly overdue account", even though I'm not 18 and legally not responsible for my medical bills (that all changes in a week though..). Today I got a statement from the Baylor Southwest WLS Center that said my insurance paid a total of $19,800.81, leaving me with $199.19 of responsibility. Whew! I have to say I was panicking about the first thing on my credit report being an outstanding $20,000 balance to a hospital lol. Two hundred dollars? That I can do.

What a relief that must've been to finally get that in the mail, huh?

Hard enough to start your adult life as it is without that hanging over your shoulders..

Congrats on getting that taken care of. Sometimes the insurance companies like to drag their feet.

hallelujah that is really a blessing.

Yeah insurance companies have a way of approving something and then denying the claim they do it all the time but you gotta be dilligent and they'll come around. They tell you that the "approval" is NOT a garuntee of payment
