Default RMSCO Anyone?

So my surgery is scheduled for April 14th, but my doctors office says they won't get approval from my insurance company till a week before. Is that normal? Any one deal with RMSCO and have any stories to tell? Approved or denied? And was it easy?

MaryAnn~

Can't help you with the RMSCO insurance question...never heard of it/them. But wanted to congratulate you on your upcoming surgery! I'd personally believe what the doctors office said....I'm sure they have dealt with this company before. But totally understand your thinking...you want to KNOW 100% that surgery is a definite GO!

Good luck!!

Cathy

Thank you both. Had my Psych appointment and nutritionist consult yesterday and both went well.

Just 21 more days!

I have BC/BS -Michigan, and from what I've been told from the people in the Clinic, you have to do all of your pre op appointments first and then when all that work is done, they submit that to the insurance company for final approval for surgery. I hope that helps.

Cheers'

I'm nervous I will go through all my appointments then find out I'm not approved a week before my surgery. That will make me very upset!

If you have approval to be seen by the surgeon, not that I'm in the medical field, I'm doubting that you would be denied unless you had some
psychological issues that you may need to take care of. Being approved to be seen at the preliminary office visit with the surgeon is kinda like a hall pass to surgery, however; your surgeon may state that you aren't a candidate for surgery whatever the reason after going thru all that red tape. And in that case, I'd get a second opinion. Good luck! I'm just as excited to get all these office visits in too.

I'll have my fingers crossed with yas,

Kimberly~
