not bad
$600 is a fair amount of money but considering the fact that he will be doing 3 seperate areas it is more than a fair amount to charge. I know he has to be taking a big cut in the standard charge.[/QUOTE]
That is more then fair...I want mine for only $600

No, date yet Katie. The scheduler is supposed to be calling me tomorrow to set up a date. Yes, they are just minor scar revisions. Now that the swelling has gone down there is still excess skin under my arms that drapes over the incisions from my breast lift. He will be removing that skin along with some excess skin in the pubic area. I'm still pretty puffy looking down there. Basicly he will just be tightening and refining everything some more. He will be able to do it under local anesthetic so I'll be awake for this. Not an idea that I totally relish but I really don't want to have to pay anesthesia and hospital OR fees if I don't have to.
I've known Dr Ford and worked with him for many years on the Burn Unit so I totally trust his judgement call. He isn't one who has been known to take chances. His nurse on the other hand (his wife) felt it was a little much for a local, so I'm a wee bit nervous about it but hey, if I want it done I'm really going to have to go this way.
Too bad T-T isn't heading my way so he can hold my hand!!

Beth, try looking at your insurance medical policy for cosmetic and reconstruction. there was a clause in mine that, in a nutshell, covers cosmetic revisions for medically necessary surgical procedures. for example, if the incision site didn't look great after healing, our policy says that it should be covered because it happened due to the medically therapuetic process. another example would be if someone had a septoplasty for breathing issues and now they have a hump on the bridge of their nose, rhinoplasty would be covered because the defect happened due to the surgical process to correct a medical problem. The price is still great though and you would have to consider any deductibles and co-insurance so it may not be worth fighting over it. My revisions were covered as it was billed as revision of incision and not revision of panniculectomy and/or thigh lift. The only reason to fight would be if you had, god forbid, any complications like infection. Insurance would not cover those. Hope this helps. Sue

Oh Beth...I would do the same. I mean, if you had something medical, I might fight it, but $600..WoW..that is more than fair. I see my surgeon on Wed and we will be talking a Fix for me too. Though I think this will be on his bill...For me, the implants have slid to the sides... I have a very hard time keeping them on my chest, where they are supposed to be.. So...good luck....looks like we will both be going back for tweaking. (At least I hope I will...)
