As for age and maturity level, I find it interesting that you yourself have brought your age up twice on this thread, cut down the OP as to her age and maturity level, as you just did mine. I just find that a bit peculiar.
No one at any time called anybody a name, a couple of gals stated that they are "bitches" ( I dont think they are, and I dont always agree with them, I like to call it strongly opinionated ) but no one disrespected anyone by calling them out of their name. I think making any prsonal comment to Kelly or anyone else on this thread is a lack of respect of the poster, lets address the issue of the thread now, Did anyone gain weight before surgery and their surgery called off?

(((( HUGS ))))

pgh3rivers, yes, I do up up up up state, but I'm originally from around DC!

I just have to say "for the record" that I came across this original thread after it had started awhile ago and was basically shocked as I read it. I really found it distasteful and being at an old age of "almost 48" I sort of had to say something because I"m not really a sit back and not say anything type of gal. I felt that you needed more support on your side and when I saw people actually gathering in mobs and taking sides on it, it kind of creeped me out a bit! Anyway no one should condemn anyone on this site, unless you're a mean spirited person and I'm not naming any names.

We wouldn't be here unless we all had issues and even if we all have surgery to lose weight we're all very very different physically and what works for one may not work for another and never assume that if it works for you it will work for EVERYONE because that is so far off base! Anyway good luck to you pgh3rivers I wish you the best in your journey sounds like you've got it together. Personally I had a difficult time too but was able to lose about 20 prior to surgery although they wanted 25 but have put back the 20 since the surgery 8 months ago. I'm thinking of gastric bypass now but that may never happen, oh well, I'll deal. Anywho, good luck to you! brandyII.

I went to a ww meeting today with a friend and was weighted. I need to get rid of 10 pounds to make my surgery requirements. Ugh. I am so hungry. I am on an extremely low calorie diet but I think i can make it. Ten more pounds to go. I can either be weighted on April 16 or APril 24 for my official weight. I am aiming for the 16th even though I suspect 10 pounds in 11 days is almost impossible. At least if I don't make it for the 16th then I can use the next wk to get to the goal.

Wow,

They made it known that we were supposed to lose 10% of our body weight but I think the last time they weighed me was two weeks prior to surgery and I hadn't even made it then. I was worried but they didn't make a stink or anything. There are so many differences between doctors and insurance companies. It's too bad, but you can do it pgh3rivers, we know you can!!!!!!!

It is a struggle. A constant struggle. It's a lot of weight to lose in a short amount of time.

are you actually supposed to eat food and not be on the liquid diet, something like Medifast, I can't remember. It seemed to me that in some ways it was easier when they cut out the food in general because the drink had no sugar in it so it kind of got rid of my cravings at the time. Like I've said before I wasn't perfect on it but it was probably easier for me that way than it is for you. I mean if I could have stuck with WW I wouldn't have done the lap band and I think my surgeons must have known that the sudden weight loss with liquid diets kind of helped their patients. Just curious, brandyII.
