though you lost it rather dangerously... im happy you lost your weight needed to approve you for surgery.

now you can focus on losing and preparing your body for the life-altering surgery that is to come. trust me, you cannot prepre your body enough. your head is wayyyyyy bigger than your stomach. And you can also lose the 10 lbs you gained back , safely this time.

good luck in your journey.

I focused on working out and eating very very little. I walked about 4 hours a day and then used the eliptical machine, arc trainer, bike, and deep water aerobics class at the gym. I ate about 500-800 calories a day. The nutritionist at the weight management center told me, "the insurance company doesn't care how you lose it, they just want you to lose the weight." So I stopped following the plan they provided.

I don't suggest that anyone follows my weight loss methods. I am lucky that I am not working right now. There were days that I was so exhausted that I slept until the afternoon. If I has a job and commitments then I could have never have lost the amount of weight that I did.

Another woman in my program with the same insurance that I have made her goal weight as well. She had a colonic the day before we weighed in and lost 10 pounds. I considered going with her. I don't know how safe it is and I just couldn't bring myself to do it.

Since the weigh in I gained 10 pounds back almost immediately. I hadn't eaten anything for the two days prior and hadn't had anything to drink the day of the weigh in. As soon as I was weighed I drank my water and went to dinner. At least my insurance is approving the surgery.

To everyone who supported me during this time, I can't thank you enough. The encouragement that was provided was out of this world.

Congrats! I had been wondering about you, because I hadn't seen you on the boards here in awhile. Darn girl, those are some extreme methods you used, but I can understand why you did it, and that took some real committment.

Do you have a date yet?

My surgeon has scheduled a date for May, however I might be changing the date to sometime in July. I am trying to rearrange my schedule to allow for recovery.... I'll know for sure in a few days.

If we didn't have issues with losing weight, we wouldn't be needing the surgery and we wouldn't be discussing this in this forum. With that being said, I think nobody should be making judgments unless you have walked in those shoes.

Truth is good but it is possible to deliver it with love. Honey is sweeter than vinager. Easy Rider is wise indeed .There are 2 ways to speak the truth.with or without compassion.I am not being fragile, just searching for some true friends Jerry from Downey(originally from Montebello.Ca)

I know exactly what you mean and where your coming from. I haven't gained as much as you but I totally understand. I have my 5th appointment this monday and I'm scared to death. Over the past few months I've gained 4 pounds. I follow the diet almost to the extreme and exercise every day and I still gained weight. I think I'm gaining weight because I'm forcing myself to eat 3 meals a day when usually it was just 2. I'm no doctor though. But I do know what you mean. I don't think anyone in this world has the right to judge another person on ANYTHING! This is supposed to be about support and if I had known about all the negative aspects of this website I probably wouldn't have joined. There are people out there willing to give you a shoulder to lean on when you need it. Fell free to contact me if you ever wanna chat.

thankfully for me, i gave the nutritionist my weight every time i went in rather than having to get on the scale. most of my appointments were in the middle of the day and i was so afraid of the scale showing something higher based on whatever i ate that morning.

i know it was a bit of trickery but i always made sure i reported at least a 5 pound weight loss.

i'm just happy to be beyond the approval phase....now i'm dreading the pre-op diet and praying that it isnt as long as some that i have read about

I actually know someone who went to the first weigh in with lead weights in her pocket...and she removed some at each subsequent weigh in. Not exact honest...but surely effective.
