I think some of these responses are extremely ignorant. As far as the comment about not replying to newbies....sure we may be new to this board but we're not new to life and certainly not new to weight loss. Most of us post on other message boards so this isnt a new process. I don't think people come here to be berated as some of these later posts are doing. Make your point and move on. To keep coming back in here and calling the girl out of her name "chicken sh*t" and "sensitive" and the other names that I read is doing what exactly? Now that you all have had your surgery and have begun your post surgery journey, you think you are now in the position to post to people like that? This virtual courage on this board is hilarious!! This board is not the latest episode of Intervention. This is supposed to be a source of information. You all arent in that girls body to know what her weight gain over the course of 6 months means. You don't know whats going on. The fact that opinions have been formed over a four sentence post tells me that this board is more of the same. The same people that form negative conclusions when they see obese people walking down the streets.
I'm glad that I see what goes on on this board now and as a "Newbie" I know not to waste my time posting because people have already formed conclusions about me. Ha Ha...too funny.
Well continue on with your little cliques....I just decided to post my 2 cents...

jeebus, this thread is over a month old.. no one cares anymore :P
it would help to stop boosting it (yeah I'm doing it right now but gimme a sec and I won't do it again lol) - all the conversations that have sprung out of the original - maybe start a new post and say something like re: questions for C-belle or w/e
this post keeps getting re-upped when someone (newish.. yeah I searched when I was new too but stilll.... this post is OLD) sees it and gets reoffended by something that was hashed out and resolved quite awhile ago...

Honestly...with the crap I have been eating I am amazed I haven't gained more. Old habits are hard to break... I eat when I am happy, sad, bored, stressed...you name it...and the past year has been VERY stressful. So far this 5DPT has been a God send. I have not ventured off the plan and at this point I am not craving anything.

Thank you for your honest answer, not meaning that other answers aren't honest. It comes across as very real, and demonstrates that WLS isn't an easy solution.

Believe it or not...
I can barely believe it- I made my weight. During the six months of classes, I gained 15 pounds, lost 15 pounds, and then lost another whopping 24 pounds in under a month! It was crazy. I focused on working out and eating very very little. I walked about 4 hours a day and then used the eliptical machine, arc trainer, bike, and deep water aerobics class at the gym. I ate about 500-800 calories a day. The nutritionist at the weight management center told me, "the insurance company doesn't care how you lose it, they just want you to lose the weight." So I stopped following the plan they provided.
I don't suggest that anyone follows my weight loss methods. I am lucky that I am not working right now. There were days that I was so exhausted that I slept until the afternoon. If I had a job and commitments then I could have never have lost the amount of weight that I did.
Another woman in my program with the same insurance that I have made her goal weight as well. She had a colonic the day before we weighed in and lost 10 pounds. I considered going with her. I don't know how safe it is and I just couldn't bring myself to do it.
Since the weigh in I gained 10 pounds back almost immediately. I hadn't eaten anything for the two days prior and hadn't had anything to drink the day of the weigh in. As soon as I was weighed I drank my water and went to dinner. At least my insurance is approving the surgery.
To everyone who supported me during this time, I can't thank you enough. The encouragement that was provided was out of this world.
