Default Any surgeons still perform surgery free?

I was told that a surgeon in NC sometimes performed his services free under very special circumstances. I phoned his office to inquire and was told that he did, in fact, perform his services free in the past but no longer does.

Now...to my question. I have a son- in- law that needs this surgery in the worst way. His health is *seriously compromized* and he's unable to obtain employment. Without employment, there's no health insurance. Where does someone such as this turn? Are there still surgeons that perform this surgery for uninsured people who are teetering on the edge?

Check out the new surgeries. I knwo UCI is doing a study on a new surgery that is like a heart defibulator but it is to the stomach and you have a pouch on your hip that powers it to contract the stomach so you do not feel hungry. It is very new but I was reading about it not to long ago. Call Dr. Chows office they will have the information

If he is on disability Medicare may cover it. I know of some people that had Medicare cover it for them.
