Default Aetna PPo Anyone???

I am coming to the end of my 3 month supervised diet and was wondering if anyone had the same insurance as me. I wanted to know if it was a long approval process and if it was hard getting approved. I am from Pa if that helps. Any response would be nice. Thanks.

I have Aetna PPO. After my 3 months it took 2-3 weeks for my approval and my surgery was less than a month later!

I was approved after 1 month and my surgeon said he could have scheduled as early as 2 weeks after that (based on his schedule). Good luck! =0)

after the 3 month diet all my stuff was submitted as required and I was approved quickly like within a week.. Aetna was smooth running for me. It was my origional doctor that had the problem. After I switch surgeons, I was smooth sailing.

I also have Aetna Open Choice PPO and my surgery wasn't originally covered. Once they declared medical necessity a few days later, my surgery was scheduled for 2 weeks. Very smooth and easy process. Make sure your doc stresses MEDICAL NECESSITY even if your plan states it isn't covered...
Good Luck!

Aetna took 30 days with my approval...

the screw ups since have been with my surgeon's office... I love my WL Team dearly, but they have screwed up THREE TIMES now... nearly giving me a heart attack today...

Thanks for all your feedback. I meet with the surgeon on Monday, then they will submit everything. So they said my surgery will be late this month or early next month. Keeping my fingers crossed.
