I've been approved by Cigna for the surgery but need the 6 month diet watch from my doctor. I also have Medicaid, do they require this also, or is there any way around this. I wanted to get this done in February and use my income tax to pay for the deductable, mine is high. Please reply.

If your doctor has a record of your weight, and you've lost any in the last six months, could you persuade your doctor to write the insurance company a letter to that fact?

Perhaps you've been on other diets and need to *remind* your doctor about it?

Irregardless, start the diet now just in case there isn't a way around it, so that you are that much closer in February when your income tax check comes in...by then you'll only have a couple of months to wait maximum...
