Angry My Insurance made a decision

My DH called ins. co. on Friday to see where they were at with my paperwork. The lady on the phone said yes I see that they made a final decision. My DH said well was she approved and she said Oh we don't get to see that information just that there was a decision made. She said my Dr. would be getting the paperwork. Ugh whats that mean!!! I thought for sure they would be able to say yes or no. Sorry just need to vent. I probably wont know until after Thanksgiving now.

Don't you just love insurance companies. They should be able to provide that info.

It amazes me that sooo many people are having a hard time getting this surgery covered.

It doesn't amaze me one bit. They have a hard time approving it because its not a fix all and there are complications. My insurance wouldn't cover my tubal ligation either until the doctor told them If I had another baby it would kill me.

Hope for the best. Maybe they faxed the decision over to your doctor and they will call you Monday morning. My insurance company did that. Then they sent the letters in the mail to me as well.

That is really crummy! I would feel just as you do. The MOST frustrating and difficult stage, as far as I'm concerned, is that period right where you are. Awful!

No nothing yet. This is maddening. I am thinking that it will probably be Wed. or Friday before I hear back. If approved they were going to push to get me in before Dec. 1st. That is when our ins. starts over and I already met the deductible. We will be heading to Kentucky for Christmas so we might just have to wait until the first of the year. I will have a secondary ins at that point from my employer, actually it is BCBS, same as my DH. Do you think that they would pick up what his doesn't cover? How does it work with 2 ins. plans?
