Usually we get our PCP to recommend the surgery, but since your's isn't seeing things eye to eye with you, you might have to get a different PCP. Remember your PCP is part of the team you'll need for support and to keep the ball rolling in the right direction.

Judy is correct, your insurance wants a referral from your primary care physician. Perhaps it's time for a change. If you need to find one who is GBS friendly, I bet your surgeon's office can make recommendations.

Default I found

getting approval and then referal from my PCP was the hardest thing in the whole process.
