Default Anyone from Illinois had the lapband?

Had mine in January of this year. Just wondering if anyone else from Illinois is on the board. I'm in the western suburbs of Chicago about 1/2 hour to 45 min. from the Loop.

Default band surgery

Hello----I had my band surgery in December of 2007. Dr Lahmann did my surgery but I have seen Dr Joyce a couple of times. I have been really having a bad time lately and about a month ago the doctor loosened my band up a lot because I was getting sick all the time. I had lost 50 pounds but unfortunately I have put some back on. I am going in today to have it retightened and start from step 1. I really want to make this work! I am 61 years old and have diabetes among other health problems so I need to take the weight off. I live in Morris so I can't be too far from you. I haven't attended any of the support groups but am going to try and get started doing that. I have got to the point where I can hardly eat any meat or chicken but I still like eggs, cottage cheese and fish. How are you doing? I sincerely hope better than I am!

Wow, Hi I have an application in at an apartment complex in morris called Canteburry Woods. I am hoping to move there November or December this year. That sure is a coincidence. Right now I am about an hour from Morris, but I have to move for financial reasons and this apartment in Morris is great. But they have a list, since there are not that many apartments there.
Sorry about the troubles you are having. I have none other except for the gallbladder which I am scheduled to have out on July 13-I guess a lot of people who have lapband and lose a lot of weight get gallstones. I don't have to take cholesterol medicine anymore, which is good. Thanks for replying CarolSue-please take care. Marnie

I'm from Chicago.. but I had gastric bypass, not the band.

Which did you have? You said band, but your sig says RNY?

Had mine out at Alexian Brother's Hospital in Elk Grove Village.
