sleeve & nsaids - will I be miserable
I'm scheduled for sleeve 12/28. Thought I had everything worked out with surgeon . He wasn't happy I was taking Indocin SR 75mg twice a day (for about 5 years) . He had me do endoscopy - everything was clear .
I saw rhuematologst to discuss gong off and trying something else
list was in order aof trial Trmadol, Mobic, Limbrel and relafen. Mobic seemed to offer the best relief - not great relief but better than others. Saw the surgeon went over what I had done and where I was at. Thought we were good to go - we did talk about indocin and he said I would probably never go on it again with the exception of big flare up and short term use.
Now before surgery I've been told off the Mobic - take the tramadol or a narcotic .
My hope is with weight loss the pain in feet and knee will subside to bearable - I know the arthritis is not going to go away. In the meantime I have to function and prepare for the worst
I don't understand if I take something to protect my stomach and only use mobic ( which is considered an nsaid but really a cox 2 inhibitor why it won't work - One of the reasons for the sleeve was that I was suppose to be able to take nsaid. Why am I going to crazy - do I have a surgeon who is being super diligent and wants to be clear if complications that he is not responsible or ?
Is anybody out there with sleeve using Mobic or have they found some miracle drug .
I'm scared that I lose the weight and I can't do anything about pain - arthritis is very bad in both feet and knees - I couldn't believe how bad it was till I went off the Indocin it really had been masking the pain - and be aware that I still felt pain on the Indocin
Also, how often does Dr Callery answer his questions - I wrote to him and haven't heard back
I asked this question on another post and I don't know where it went - sorry if it looks like I'm repeating self
