Default Some Stupid Questions Some of You may have the answer for...

1. How soon after the surgery can i bend over to pick things from the floor?

2. How much weight (i, know, yes, estimated, can I expect to loose on the first 2 weeks (not counting the 7 or 8 pounds i came back with from the hospital!)?

3. My belly looks fatter now than before the surgery, is it normal (I'm one week post op today), if so when can i expect to wear "normal clothes"?

4. How soon can I wear high heels?

5. When should I start exercising (besides walking slowly i mean)?

6. Why do I feel I'm not losing weight?

7. Is it normal to have hard stomach cramps after being in a position for a long time and then changing position (example, sitting for about an hour and then standing up?)

Sorry for these questions, I just thought by today I would have lost so much more weight than i have so...

1. Well, I was cleared to do this 2 weeks after surgery however I still have trouble
2. I lost 14 lbs the first 2 weeks
3. Its swollen from the surgery so yeah thats normal.
4. No Idea
5. Your Doctor will tell you when exercise is ok...usally after your first follow up
6. Sometimes we Let our minds tell us its not going to work, and sometimes it takes awhile for your body to get started. WALK its important
7. I had pain when i would try to sit up after laying down for awhile... I would talk to your doctor because different people have different experiences

Hope that helps a little

Sorry for these questions, I just thought by today I would have lost so much more weight than i have so...
1. I wasn't really bending over to get things, I kinda squatted for the first couple of weeks.

2. I lost about 10 lbs in the first 2 weeks, but so many people gain because of all the fluid they pump into you. It's hard to say - everyone loses at different paces.

3. It looks fatter now because you're full of fluid. It'll go away soon. As far as normal clothes - I don't know exactly what you mean by that. If you mean when will you lose enough weight to wear smaller clothes, that's a tough one to answer as well. My clothes size didn't start shrinking until I lost 40-45 lbs.

4. I would say you could wear heels when you're feeling back to yourself. I made sure I was all heeled and back to myself before I wore heels. I was too afraid I'd fall and tear my stitches or something.

5. My doctor suggested no lifting for at least a month. Didn't want me to start sit ups or anything like that for 3 months. Every doctor is different. Ask yours what he/she suggests.

6. You're still so early out. Stay off the scale for a while. When you're not losing lbs. you're most likely losing inches.

7. You're still healing. I had cramps and discomfort when I was 3 weeks out.

Don't ever be sorry. That's what we're here for. Hang in there. You'll do great.
