Default nutritionist?

Hello,

Well I finally have my lap band scheduled for next month. So my question is, since I am having the procedure done abroad, (and yes I have found a local doctor who will do the adjustments for me) do I need to find a nutritionist for when I get back? They tell me what I can have for the first 4-6 weeks but thats it. So any insight would be great!!

I recommend it. I strongly recommend it. You may only need to see her once or twice, but I think it's really good to have someone to advise you. Also, some surgeons out of the country don't seem to give very good advice about vitamins. Well, some in the US don't, either. But anyway, I really recommend it.

You'll probably have to pay for it out of pocket, most insurance companies won't pay for a dietician. But I think it would be worth it.

Who is going to do your fills? There may be a dietician in that doctor's office that you can see. If not, I'd look for one on your own.

Thank you for the advice!! I will have to call his office and ask if he has a nutritionist. A weight loss surgeon here in Birmingham will be doing the adjustments. Of course insurance wont pay for it, but he is only going to charge $250.00 for the first visit and then $100.00 for each additional adjustment, which isnt bad, I think. I am just tired of fighting with the insurance companies so I decided to pay for this myself and a friend of mine used this company and they have actually been on 20/20 so I feel very comfortable with them.
