My SSI is on the way plus i will enroll in Medicare, i just got Medi-cal(Medicaid)I called St Mary's in Long Beach and Tri-City Regional Medical center in Hawaiian Gardens, they will both send me packets of information. Because of SSI , i will get full coverage on Medi-cal. I will be called a Dual eligible or Medi-Medi, because of both Medicare and Medi-cal. St.Mary's said i could use their Doctors or mine for pre -tests. It'll be easier if i use their Doctors. SSI is going to pay so far 26 months of backpay, but 25% goes to lawyer up to $ 5,000 and change. My medications are expensive(heart especially) this will help. Thanks for listening, looks like Lap Band here I come ! Jerry

I am glad to hear everything is going in the right direction for you. I too hear you on the heart meds, they can be pricey!

I am planning on going Tuesday to Orientation at TRI CITY REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER in Hawiaan Gardens ,Pioneer Blvd/CarsonBlvd(?). it'll be at 12:00 noon.It is a good day because the Doctor's will be there: so i will ask the Doc's questions. They take medi-cal(medicaid). I am applying for Medicare as soon as they send me the papers i will apply, but that will take a little time 30-40 days, i believe they said. I want to get the ball rolling, anyhow. I am ready to do something . I don't want to wait till another year goes buy. I will have to dig up info on what is recommended(FOOD),that i will have to eat. In other words what is good and bad. I bet there are forums on this site ,just for that(?) I will let you guys(gals) know if all goes well. JERRY
