Red face Although it is silly...

...and some days are worse than others....I sure do miss bread. Seriously, I cannot eat bread in any way, shape, or form (stuck city!) Small price to pay, I know, but when the smell of freshly baked garlic bread comes wafting in from the kitchen, my how my heart aches...LOL

Mine too... totally miss the bread like CRAZY! I can sometimes eat a little bit here and there... like from a Subway tuna sandwich, but it doesn't always work well so I have to be careful! I usually just eat the insides and no bread...

Here's to missing bread!

Bread has never really been a big issue or me, but chips, Doritos to be exact, seem to be my downfall. Honestly I have been known to chew up a mouthful of something I can't have and then spit it in the trash just to get the flavor. Kind of sad to admit, but it seems to work.

The day I ended up forgetting my lunch, I decided to have a subway sandwich. I ordered the 3 in kids sized sandwich and had them scoop all the breading from inside the roll, leaving only the crust portion before they made the sandwich.. and I had them put the dressing 'on the side'.. and only put a drops worth, just for a tiny bit of taste. Worked quite well.

I share lunch with several Portuguese ladies who eat this amazing bread.. it's like bread & dessert all in one.. they were eating it today and I was just drooling over it.

Honestly, I don't know.. I'm sorry, I didn't catch that this was posted in the lapband forum.. the way I read the group is to click on 'new posts'.. and I was just reading and following the others, lol....

My apologies for adding/ causing any confusion. I know for many people it is a huge problem.. for me, it doesn't seem to be too bad as long as it's in small amounts.

To deal with the transition into your new life post-surgery, I take a bite of say garlic bread, hold it in my mouth, such the flavour and then spit it out. It is the sensation , the feel of the texture that we crave, more than actually eating it.
good luck,
Vim

Pre-surgery, I could have eaten bread (warm, French) with unsalted butter and cheese, every day for every meal. Oh! And of course, the Branston Pickle (the Brits. will understand that one).

Now - I'm down to the occasional slice of well toasted wholegrain.

Do I miss it? Close to a 100lb lost, size 4x down to a 10/12 ... na! On top of which, it's on my list of things that I'm "deathly allergic" to. LOL

A thinner me

I can eat pretty much anything. But bread type things are a no go. tortillas, bread, pretzels, and the like. Some dried fruit, that is to chewy doesnt work either for me. the last thing I can think of is Mango. I tried fresh mango about a year ago and stuck city! I have no idea why? Everyone seems to have something that they cant eat, and you will know once you find it!
