Smile waiting for my 1st dr.'s consult

My family Dr. has referred me for the Lap Band Surgery. So I went to the siminar January 9 and my consult with my surgeon is January 14. How long from the time of your siminar has it taken you to get your surgery. I have already talked with my insurance and they say they will cover my surgery within 48hrs of receiving whatever they need from my surgeon. I am looking forward to this surgery. This 325lb body is wearing me out. LOL.

Beginning to end was 6 months for me, due to insurance requirements! Since you've already checked that out --- then it's up to your surgeon! You could be on the Loser's Bench before you know what hit you!

Read-read-read and make sure you're know all you need to know!

Best Wishes Marie! WheeeeEEeeeEEEeeEEEeeee!

Once the insurance company's requirements were settled, I still had to wait a little over two months because my surgeon was booked!

Good luck!

All depends upon your doctors protocol, your insurances protocol, and your surgeons protocol...pretty much out of your hands until you jump through their hoops! I feel I was extremely lucky...approved in about 4 months from the first time I requested looking into the surgery. Due to the fact that I changed MY mind on which surgery I was going to have...it took an extra month for the actual surgery date.

Good luck on your journey!

LAP RNY === laproscopic Roux-en-y
OPEN RNY === big incision Roux-en-y

I suppose a laproscopic lap band should === lap lap band

I was confused at first too --- hope that helps!
