May I PLEASE beg for your help!
Warning – this is a long one!
I’m placing duplicate posts in the socialize and the general discussion areas so I can get as many people to see this as possible. There is a method to my madness – so keep reading!
I know, I’ve not been on the forum as much as I normally am. The reason being (and I think I’ve posted this before) is I’m looking for a new job and have been hanging out at hotjobs.com and moster.com Beating the bushes, and seeing what’s out there. I’m growing tired of the 90 mile daily commute, and want something considerably closer to home. More importantly, there’s also stuff going on where I’m working now, and it just doesn’t seem as fun anymore – so, time to move on.
Now, I’m in a bit of a quandary. There are a lot of things I can do – besides playing with computers (I have a masters degree in information systems), and if something else comes up outside my chosen profession, I will consider it. One caveat – it must be on my terms. I have always been a believer of creating one’s own “luck”, “opportunities” or whatever you want to call it. I think outside the proverbial box – and I mean “way outside” the box. People think I’m crazy, reach to high, dreaming, or just a bit “off.” I really don’t care. I’ve never settled for being conventional (I guess that’s why I’m always in trouble at work.) Still, I don’t care.
You all know I love to help others. I honestly believe that’s my true calling. Yes, I like being in the spotlight, but never at the expense of others. Am I making sense? I’ve never been the “popular” one, and I have to admit, I love getting attention when I can (in a good way.) I guess that’s one reason I’ve hung around here for so long. That and the fact I’ve made a whole bunch of friends here! All of you have helped me much more than you realize, and by allowing me to help and encourage/motivate all of you, just makes it that much more fun – and gratifying.
I have one bad habit – I’m afraid of asking people for help. I’ve finally learned that in order to get what you want you need others who are willing to help you. I’m notorious for NOT asking for help. Being looked down upon for so long (being obese) you get the feeling you don’t deserve it. My shyness (yeah, believe it or not I have a shy streak), it has always been nearly impossible to ask for help. Until now.
Okay, here it comes – WAY outside the box!
You all know I have a dream and desire of creating my own WLS talk show. The challenge I’m having is trying to secure someone who knows how to use a camera and familiar with basic TV production. Having no money, I’m looking for someone who can do it and will take payment in other forms (no, not THAT way!) I’m still working on finding someone, but have an incredibly crazy, insane, way, way out there idea.
Would you kind folks consider a letter writing campaign for me?
I would love to get on a talk show to talk about WLS and my dream – mainly Ellen Degeneres. Why Ellen? She’s fun, irreverent, popular and a person anyone can relate to. She also tapes her show in Los Angeles (okay, actually Burbank). I believe she can help me make my dream possible. She seems easy to talk to, approachable, and so willing to help others.
I can’t find an address to write, but did find this link below to post a comment. If I can get as many of you (and I mean A LOT) to post why I am worthy of being on her show, how I’ve been a help to you, and my desire to have a show of my own (WLS related), I would be so much forever grateful!

I know, this is absolutely crazy, insane, nuts, and perhaps self-absorbing, but I’ve been kicking around this idea for a long time (even putting together a website –
www.wlshealthforum.com ), I need to do something (crazy?) to make this dream come true. But then again, don’t most great things come from outrageous ideas?
If people can start a letter writing campaign to bring back a cancelled show, or make any type of change, this can and will work – but ONLY IF I can get enough people who will help me, and write – multiple times if necessary!
Will you help me? I look at it this way, I’ve nothing to lose, and we can all have something to gain from this.
A most humble and sincere thanks to all!
