My name is Katy. I am 27 years old, and am contemplating WLS. I was wandering if the Lap Band is better than the GPS. I am 5 ft. 4in. tall and weigh 215. My BMI is 36.6. I have had multiple knee surgeries, have PCOS, osteoarthritis in the medial compartment of my right knee, also have asthma, and premature ventricular contractions. I have tried every diet on the market, walk about 5miles daily and I eat right. I havent been a decent weight since 7th grade. Back then I was 115 lbs and a size 9. Please give me your advice. I go back to my orthopedic doctor Oct. 1st and was going to ask his opinion on WLS. I talked to a bariatric nurse at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. She told me that osteoarthritis wasnt considered a comorbidity. What should I ask my doctor onMon.? :
