Hi all~

I've been posting through out the day yet didn't formally introduce myself under my "gang" :-). I had the Lap Band surgery on 9/5, tom. makes my 2wk post op. I had it done in Ridgewood, NJ with Dr. Daniel Davis. So far I've lost 8Lbs. The first wk went well it was pretty much all liquids. But it's been getting a bit tough sticking to the diet as far as how to make the foods I can eat. I've been eating about 1 yogurt and 1 pudding a day and liquids in between. I do get hungry but lets see if that will cease after my first fill scheduled on Oct 5. I started excercising this sun. I still feel discomfort right where the port is located. I hope the lbs begin to shed some more, realizing how much slower the process is as oppose to the by pass stories I've read. Well hope to receive and give the support from you guys.

Hi Rosemary! Welcome!!

I was just banded on Monday. There are not as many lapbanders here but there are some. Please share your story and experiences along the way to help us newbies! Congrats on your 8 lb. weight loss, that is quite a bit! And you're right, the loss is much slower than RNY. Don't get discouraged!!

Welcome to you both.

I don't think it matters what route you travelled - we're all in the same race.

It's good that we're able to share our experiences.

Thanks guys and congrats Rachel!!! The first week is ok, pain subsides after the first 3 days. It's been going well so far, I go for my first fill on Oct 5 & having my first check up next thursday. I can't wait for that adjustment though, I feel like I need it because dr says stomach holds about 4 oz but I can have a whole yogurt which is more than that and feel ok. Im happy I found you guys finally people I can relate to :-)

Hey, welcome to the board! We are indeed all here for the same purpose/struggle. I considered the lap band, but decided RNY was best for me. Best wishes on your journey. BTW, I lost fairly slow and steady too.....as long as it keeps moving the right direction and you are focusing on eating healthy.....it's all good.

HI Ladies.. Congrats on your recent surgeries. I am 3 weeks post op (lapband)and I have lost almost 20lbs since my last post-op appointment the week before surgery. I feel great I am getting my first fill on October 10th, and I will return to work on Monday. I look forward to journey together.
