Hi Jill,

We have no "Chat" option on this forum...we used to, but they took it down awhile ago. If you post questions, people here will try and help you. Welcome to the forum!

Hello,
There have been some new chat programs released in the recent months that I am looking into. Will try to have something implemented within the next month provided that there aren't gargantuan licensing fees .

Thanks,
John

John.... any chance of adding a "Journal" feature here? I'd love to read the journeys others have taken without all the "chatter" posted in by others... plus I'd love to keep my own here!

(i know - probably wrong spot to ask)...

Default Welcome Jill!!!

Hi there and welcome to the family!

I am also a newbie - only joined in July 2007 and still pre-opp.

As I know how intimidating this forum can be when you first start exploring it I thought I'd give all the newbies a few pointers as to the threads that made an impression on me:

Pouch Rules for Dummies - posted by Baron PatrickPouch Rules for Dummies

Best food, best protein, etc. for post-op - compiled by LisaMBest food, best protein, etc. for post-op

The things people wish they had known beforehand - compiled by LisaMThe things people wish they had known beforehand

What Supplements are you on? - started by Jerrod24
What Supplements are you on?

I have also been asked to add the book "Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies" to this list, I have not read it myself but plan on ordering it via Amazon today - full review to follow shortly

Have a great time and I look forward to following your journey!

PS: If any of the "oldies" have any other threads to bring to our attention please let me know and I will add it to my list.

Hugs

I think what Toony means and what I would also like - not only for my own journal but also to read other people's journals - is to have a person's story, continouesly, without all the "back chat"

I've been on sites where the journals are there - you can mark them private, or leave them open for others to read... others may make a "comment," but it does not incorporate into the journal as the "threads/replies" do here.

see: www.lapbandtalk.com and click on "journals" in the nav. bar.

I have had my band fitted 10 days on wednesday and had it done in the uk as I couldnt find a place abroad that I felt happy with so I have paid an arm and leg..... which is what I hope to loose in weight lol

It is so nice to find a place were there are people from the uk as well to talk about the lap band. How is your weight going and when is your top up due mine is in 8 weeks. I would love to make friends online and share my thoughts on things do you use messenger.

many thanks Dianne
