Default Low Bmi

I Was Banded On Feb. 10.07. My Bmi Was 29. Talked The Doctor Into Doing The Procedure. I Have Lost 18 Lbs So Far. Not Always Sure Of How Much Food I Should Eat. Seems Like I Am Getting Enought Calories Per Day. Noticed Some Hair Falling Off And Not Sure If It Is The Surgery Or Normal Stage. Any Ideas?

I am not for certain about the lap-band but are you getting in your vitamins. Hair loss is normal. What does your diet consist of?

Welcome to the board. I hope you find all the info you are looking for. Good luck on your weight loss and congrats on the -18 pounds you have lost thus far.

Default Welcome

I am not familar with the lap band but I would suggest more protein and I think you can go to fitday.com to enter your daily food and check calories...

I hope this helps!

It will be interesting to follow your progress. I wrote a paper years ago about if we did Lap-band early enough before getting too MO, would it help in the long run?

HI

Congrats on 18lbs so far! You are doing great. I was banded in Nov. To date I have lost 68lbs. My hair has begun to fall out too! UGH I called my nut. from my class and she said it is normal. She said to up my protein, (I eat between 60-70 a day now!! ) So she wants me to eat/drink a minimum of 80 a day! Then she said to take biotin. She said that helps too? I just picked it up today so I dont know yet...LOL

I have been told to eat between 1200-1500 cals a day. I eat on the lower end being about 1200. I eat protein first, then fruits/veggies, and then carbs if I have room. I have been told that a good meal is about a cup to 1.5 cups of food.

I dont know if I helped or not! Glad to see another bander!

I imagine it could be looked at as a "preventative" solution to becoming MO.
Follow directions, and simple ones... you should be fine. Congrats on the 18 lbs gone forever. Janie
