Default Putting together a book proposal

Hey, guys,

OK - picking myself up, dusting myself off, starting all over again. I'm putting together a book proposal this week to send out to publishers and agents. The tentative title is "Gastric Bypass--Finally, the Weight is Over!" It's going to be a funny (hopefully), irreverent (definitely) look at my personal trip through this wonderland.

I will also be including a lot of the research that I did before I went into this and since I came out of the surgery. I would like very much to include anecdotal stories from some of y'all--and will keep your confidentiality at whatever level you wish to maintain it, from changing your name on down.

If you are interested in being part of this, please e-mail me directly at MrazikL@yahoo.com. If I hear enough committed interest from enough of you, I will include it as part of my proposal. Please let me know no later than Monday, June 12.

I really appreciate it - and hope that you'll consider it.

I'd love to contribute - what kind of submissions are you looking for, Lisa? I am also very proud of you for dusting off so quickly - you have been in my thoughts and prayers!

Lisa,

I was going to email you, but the damned thing asked me too many questions. I finally ran out of answers. I'd love to help and be part of it. You can even use my name! I hope you are as big of a success with it as you are a loser! By the way, GREAT title.

Default I'll get in touch with you personally next week

Hey guys,

Thanks for the response here, and the ones that have come to my personal e-mail. Whichever way you respond, I'll be getting in touch with all of you next week. I've gotten enough responses that I feel I can add "the stories of others who've made the same journey" to the proposal, and I'm well on the way to having it in good shape. Just got to write two sample chapters between now and next Tuesday, and it's going in the mail on Wednesday.

I will need all your stories, and want to get them from you in ways that make sense in the framework I've already set up, so I'll put a questionnaire together by next week and get it out to you. My biggest gaps are insurance problems - I had none - and plastic surgery post-op, which of course I'm not ready for yet. But whatever stage you're in, I'm interested, and I will get back in touch.

You guys have been the rocks I lean on for some time--with your help, I want to make this amazing support available to anyone who can read...

Default Thank you to everyone who posted saying they'd help...

I'm sending a private mail to each of the individuals above who said they'd be happy to help, but am also attaching the survey documents here. They are in Word and PDF. If you don't have Microsoft Word, the PDF document should work on any computer, whether Mac or PC. Don't worry about saying too much or too little - just put it on there, and I'll sort it out.

Even if you didn't respond before, and would like to now, please download these documents (guaranteed virus-free, I have my system well-protected), fill out as much or as little as you want, save it, then re-attach it to an e-mail to me at mrazikl@yahoo.com.

To all of you responded, and all of you who want to participate, my heartfelt thanks. Please send any filled-out surveys back to me no later than July 1. If you would prefer to print it out and mail it, please e-mail me for my home address.

Default Marie - thank you!

Marie,

From what you've shared of your experiences on the board, you would be a tremendous addition to the book. I'd be most pleased to get your answers to the survey.
