I still have not gotten the actual bill yet, but my EOB was 187,000 for my surgery and everything. So far I have only had to pay 487 dollars OOP.

I only had to pay $200 for my preop diet and that was it - Don't have insurance and wasn't self pay as the hospital footed the entire bill - Lucky me =)

My surgery was over 43K on paper but my hospital co-pay with United Healthcare was only $250.00. This included all pre-op tests and Dr.’s fee. I feel very fortunate.

just a note that this is actually a self pay price. I think that's what the OP is looking for, not insurance out of pocket costs since that's easily found on their insurance information.

I just got my bill from the hospital, it was.....$55,983, yes, that is correct!!! And I had the roux-en-Y gastric bypass, no complications, 2 day stay! I almost passed out. So good news, I only pay $250 deductable. I have HMO Illinois insurance, which I am VERY grateful for!

I was told in my case, the surgery will be about $30,000. I have to cover $1,400 for nutritional supplements and $300 hospital copay. I think it will probably be worth it.
