Wow, I'm jealous of all of you who didn't have to pay anything. I think costs for the surgery were somewhere in the $30,000 range and I had to pay around $3200 which yes I'm still paying on but it's only been 10 months.

I have not seen the actual hospital bill, they only sent me my portion to pay $100.00 for the surgery and Hospital. Plus the co-pays for the Health classes and NUT and psych, about $300.00 total for the pre-op stuff.

THANK GOD FOR INSURANCE IS RIGHT!

I had to pay 10% for anesthesia and because I had met my deductible I didn't have to pay anything else. I was fortunate!

My sister had a heart transplant at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and also ended up getting the West Nile Virus and had to be airvac'd there at a later date. Her insurance has paid out about a million so far.

Wow all of ya alls surgeries seem to be so cheap. I have the same surgeon and having the surgery at the same hospital as a friend of mine and her bill was like 60 k and she had BCBS and her out of pocket was like 1600.00 just for the surgery. I thought 1600.00 was way cheap until I hear some you talking about your 100.00 co-pay or better yet nothing. That would be great! But I still think that 1600.00 is great and I am thankful. Much better then self-pay.

Whoa!! What insurance do you have? I'm in Northern Virginia and I have kaiser. I'm already 4 months into the WLS program but I just started wondering how much I'll have to pay. =/

(I paid 175 for my tonsillectomy.. I'm sure WLS is a heck of a lot more expensive than a tonsillectomy... what am I gonna be looking at??)

I paid about 80,000 TT dollars which would be around 13,000 to 13,500 US for everything except pre-op tests and nutritionist.
