No longer a lurker - I'm in it for good now
There are a few of you who know me and so many that don't. For those of you who I've had the opportunity to meet...You're the best! I can't wait to meet more of the network in the months to come. You'll be seeing a lot more of me to come in the next few months. There's a lot that's been going on with me and I hope to keep ya'll updated and I certainly appreciate all the advise and help I can get.
I've been casually pursuing WLS for four years now and no it's no longer a dream so far away. It's actually going to happen! I've buckled down and braved the meetings and most of the tests and just have been approved by my PCP and the surgeon as of yesterday! Now this is exciting news for many reasons. Most of all because I was in a car accident in late March which resulted in two fractured vertebra and two herniated disks in my neck. I've been on disability and the healing time has been drawn out due to the excess weight and being obese. It's hard for the bones to heal. However, it's not just the bones fractures/injuries that I will contend with. I've also been diagnosed with having degenerative disk disease. This just means that my skeletal structure (especially my spine and neck) have the early onset of something similar to premature osteoporosis. So this approval couldn't have come at a better time.
I have so many questions but will try to search for posts that may have covered them in the past. But if I can't, I hope to fall to you, my friends to help me find my way in the dark (so to speak).
Just wanted to make a presence again and let ya'll know I'm on my way !!!!!

Jenn, didn't I meet you at Cinerbell's party? Congrats on your decision to have the surgery, and good luck with it. I hope your pain is greatly decreased from the weight loss!
