Unhappy United HealthCare Insurance

Has anyone has any experience with them? I have found out that there is a written exclusion policy. They say that is the doctor says it is medically necessay it will go to a review board but is there really any chance now for approval?
Thanks!

I found out that United can be different depending on how the comapny where your benefits are writes the policy. They can exclude WLS. Some people have had very good luck with United Healthcare, it just depends on your company's policy.

I also had zero problems with UnitedHealthCare. I got approved the same day my doc's office submitted the information. My hubby works for AT&T.

I too have been told that unitedhealthcare is easy going. I called them and they have very few riestrictions in our policy. I am now waiting to see the surgeon for consultation on the 25th of may.

I had united health care and my manual said that they wouldn't cover anything that was weight loss related. I couldnt even go to a dietician. My doctor wrote a letter and I got the same answer from the company. It must depend on which United you have and what the policy is. I ended up changed insurance company's to Humana and was approved within weeks without jumping through any hoops.
