I'll know in a week or so
I am hoping and praying for June - we'll see what Mr. Wonderful's schedule is like.
After having to go to all those classes, lose 10%, go back to the dietician because I gained some back etc. I was shocked to find out how easy the pre-op stuff is for me. 24 hour clear liquid diet, nothing by mouth after midnight, no bowell prep and my Doc. almost never uses a drain, so I shouldn't have to worry about that! (Does that mean he is that good? Or is it a choice? He is chief of trauma surgery and does the GBP in two hours...I guess I'll know soon enough)
So I'll be on here May 24th to post my date, either shouting June or crying July. (mostly because of the kids' schedules, you know, summer camp for big guy, fewer hours at sitter for little one and fewer weeks to recover before school starts in Sept.)
My big crazy goal - to under 200 by first day my students are back at school - Sept. 6, 2006. That is only remotely possible if I can get into surgery June 20 or 22nd. (I know it would be a lot even then) Pray for me guys! Imagine my surgeon with a big blank spot on his calendar one of those days ...saying "Let's look at July - oh wait a moment, here is a big opening I didn't notice before - we'll put you in!!"
You are all the best!
June bug - that so cute. Makes me think I should vibrate outside the window...

Welcome aboard Blair ! Good to have ya joinin' us !
Zenomia --- I know you can do the NO carb ! ! I have faith in you!
The surgeons I talked to said that dieting for a couple of weeks doesn't shrink the liver enough to worry about it , ((since I had heard so much about it, I asked them about it)) that is why I don't have to go on any certain diet etc with the exception of loosing a little bit for the anestesiologist (sp) .. BUT... I will be going on a lo-carb diet starting Monday . I KNOW I can do it, cause I have been on that before and lost several pounds before falling off THAT wagon.. course, I won't have time to fall off the wagon this time LOL I will have the surgery by then I just pray that I can make it to the day without getting too nervous.

I am holding a spot for you GINA...You know that!! Just call your Surgeon and tell them to put you tentatively in those dates? Will they do that? Either way...My fingers are crossed and I am sending out the JUNE MOJO for ya!!
Dorothy: I decided to start the lo carb diet today as well. Mainly because I want to get rid of some of this weight before surgery...my knees are killing me!! Like you, I figure this diet won't be so bad condering I can drop the water weight first and by the time it gets pretty challenging to keep losing, it will be time for surgery!! No time to get discouraged and give up/give in.
I am sucking down jerkey for breakfast because I can't seem to stomach eggs and nothing else came to mind to eat. Oh well.
We should have many new June Buggies joining in the next few weeks....Best of luck to everyone hoping for a June date. If July it is..You could be the FIRECRACKERS!!! LOL!!

I'm Officially A 'June Bug' I am scheduled for June 20. Only thing is my mom is scheduled for May 30, so only twenty days in between. Hopefully she doesn't have any complications and I will be on the 20th. My mom is my other half, we live together and she takes care of my two year old when I'm not. So, hopefully all will go well.
