Oh thats wonderful ! 3 days after me! Good luck ! Wooo hoooooo ! ! !
I dont have to go on any special diet, BUT, my Surgeon did say that the anestesiologist (sp) likes it when people loose at least 5 or 10 pounds before surgery. God help me! I know that 5 pounds sounds easy, but I have to get myself off of this..."" I will never get to eat this again...so I want it now!" phase!!! I know I can do it.. I know I can I know I can ... can't I ?? hahahah

My mom is also on here, she is Queen Robin of the May surgeries . We are doing this together, her first since hers are for medical reasons, and then when she is recovered, it will be my turn.
I'm new to this site, just starting to check it out and doing more research. So, if ya got any good links to check out, please let me know. There are so many different forums and posts on here, I'm a little overwhelmed not knowing where to start. Thanks.

When you know what your date is, We would be HAPPY to add your name to our Buggie ranks. Granted, it's not as REGAL as the Queens of May...but we are just Hopping Happy with our Buggyness.... (I need therapy!!)

I went through that too...Marie Slammed me back into reality and wouldn't let me feel sorry for myself. Get rid of the junk, buy the kids stuff you won't eat, and CONTROL the urge to think you won't eat it again...you will!! Trust me, once you start the RIDE...you don't want to have to get off!! We are sooooo dang close...there is a light at the end of the tunnel!!! You can do this, so can I...the Elders have proven it can be done. Just a few more weeks!!
I have to start a pre-op diet with NO carbs..not one...on the 22nd. It's a high protien deal. My surgeon wants us to lose as much weight as possible RIGHT before surgery to shrink the liver. The liver sits on the stomach and is easier to navigate around (for lap surgery) if it has recently shrunk...plus, any head start you can get for weight loss is great!! (It's mostly for the liver shrinkage..at least that is the impression I have.) We also have to do a bowel prep the night before. I am not looking forward to the pre-stuff...but I know this is my only choice and by GOD I am going to do this with all the GUSTO I can muster!! So while I am strapped to the toilet I will be singing "Born FREE" at the top of my lungs...to remind me that it's ALL WORTH IT!!
