Question Do you dream about food?

I had to laugh after I woke up this morning. I'm not really having any wacky cravings while I'm awake, but I told my husband about this dream I had last night where food was the star. I was in some room, hungry and the only thing to eat was a piece of hot pizza and a couple of Doritos. So I passed on the Doritos and went straight for the pizza. I took a bite of the pizza and it was pure heaven! Then I realized what I was doing and I spit it out before I could swallow it. I woke up feeling so proud of myself because I didn't swallow! (Dave---restrain from the obvious!)

I had real bad food dreams post-op. As early as coming right out of surgery. I told my husband once they brought me to my room that I could taste cookies. Its like an addict that is in rehab fighting that desire for that addiction but our desire for whatever it is we urge so deeply, subconsciously we take it to sleep with us. Not abnormal at all. I think there is a lot of people here who have had some really intresting food dreams post-op and even pre-op.

Post op I had dreams all the time about forgetting that I had the surgery and eating all sorts of junk and having to run to the bathroom and throw it all up. It stopped about 1 month out.

Default Dreams

I dreamt a lot about food early post-op....especially when I couldn't eat anything at all because of my complications. I would dream about downing a big bottle of diet coke or eating a steak.

I think as you're able to re-introduce things back into your diet, the dreams subside. They do seem like a cruel trick at the time though.

I had them too......I was always eating junk and then would realize about the surgery. Most times it involved panic that I ate so much and wasn't getting sick. Mine have stopped or slowed down it seems.

I know I dream, but can't ever remember them in the morning - I would probably traumatize myself if I did However - I do daydream about food which is horrible, so I have to analyze and ask myself if I am hungry, why I am thiking like this. If I am hungry, I analyze what I was daydreaming about - why that food? Then if I am hungry, if I am daydreaming about, say Greek food, I analyze what exactly I can have and I go for it, eat what I am able and have tons of leftovers later. If I am not hungry, I sip my water and try to stay busy to stop the food thoughts!!! Its like walking around with an angel on one shoulder and the devil on the other!!!

No dreams for me....well kinda...I am hooked on cooking shows....my hubby thinks I am crazy...but I watch mostly shows on BBQ/Grilling and I can eat all this, so I look for good new healthy choices...then I dream about the shows and make grocery lists in my head....you would think I have more of a life!
