Post Plateau? Interesting article

I got these little facts from a really old Glamor magazine, I thought it was interesting so I thought I would share. The article had 12 ways to lose weight, these are not all 12... here ya go.

Think before you drink
"It's the sneaky beverage calories that get us into trouble. Americans' consumption of soda, sport drinks, juice, speciality coffees and teas is way up, and research has found that when people consume extra calories through beverages as opposed to ffod, they/re more likely to gain weight." -Richard D. Mattes PHD Professor of Nutrition at Purdue University.

Steer clear of the inner supermarket aisles
"All of the healthy, fresh fooods-dairy, fish, bread, chicken-are on the outside. The interior aisles hold seductive fat and sugarladen convenience and snack foods with long shelf lives"- Gerald Musante PhD Founder of Structure House, a weightloss management facility in Durham, NC

Cook fish at home
"If everyone ate fish in place of meat at least twice a week, we could drop pounds, lower our cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease. Most fish contain Omega 3 fatty acids, which lessen your risk of heart problems, and are low in fat. bake, boil or grill the fish, baste with olive oil-the fish doesnt really absorb it-and season with your favorite spices."-Rick Moonen, formeer executive chef at Ocean Restaurant in New York City

Face your credit card balance
"Ive noticed a connection between excess weight and debt. It has to do with the shame of living a financial lie. You're keeping a secret, so you tend to hold onto everything else, including extra weight. Once you tell people about the debt, you release the fear and shame, and the weight tends to flow off. Call the credit card companies and let them help you figure out a payment plan."- Suze Orman Financial guru and author of the courage to be rich

Make a public vow to lose weight <--- my favorite one
"Our studies show that people shed more pounds in a group enviroment than on their own. By joining forces with a friend or signing up for a weight-loss group, you'll get emotional support, which can help you stick to your diet. Plus, you won't want to let others down." - Michael G. Perri PhD Professor of psychology at the University of Florida in Gainsville

Some may apply and some may not, I hope you find them useful just the same.

What Sawyer would call me on LOST: ladybug

"People will argue with you that getting what you want in life isn’t something you can learn, if you’re destined to be one of the worlds winners as opposed to one of its perpetual whiners, its because you have been born with the right talents and temperament and have a big dose of self-esteem, ambition, and good judgment." This is a great article. I heard some of these before and I always remember the one about the store. I always end up in the middle isles for something.

I almost always stay on the outside isles for that reason but you know what else happens when you do that? You have to go to the store way more often because those foods are perishable and you spend so much more money. Now that my husband does almost all of the shopping we see way more Little Debbie ("but honey they were $.99) and Kraft Easy Mac ("babe 3 1/2 minutes to dinner!) of course he doesn't have a weight problem! I am so thankful that my 4 yer old yells at daddy abou having no helfy (healthy) foods in the fridge and they'd all choose the convenience of an apple over an oatmeal cream pie anyday.......just wish I could

Those are great tips and I keep hearing the thing about fish but I just can't get myslf to eat it. I like tuna but that is about it any suggestions for a really good/easy fish that isn't "fishy"?

I love those!!! Thanks for posting them, girlie!

Queen B...I think you may take a liking to Cod. It is a GREAT tasting fish not too fishy. You can bake it with some butter and garlic or herbs and it is so good! It is just a white fish and very meaty.
