OT - Beach Vacation Suggestions?
I hope you all don't mind that I am posting this question here - I am so attached to all of you and highly respect your opinions, so I thought I'd throw this out there to see if anyone has a recommendation.
I want to take my boys (ages 16 and almost 13) on a tropical, beachy vacation in July. They are growing so fast and I want to be there when they step foot on a real beach for the first time.
Has anyone been to an all-inclusive beach resort for families that they highly recommend? I am open on the destination, as long as there are white, sandy beaches and fun activities for the kids. It doesn't even have to be all-inclusive if it comes highly recommended.
Any thoughts/suggestions? I'll take anything! From beautiful destinations to actual resort names!
Thanks!

Bahamas!
We are leaving tonight and flying to Florida. We are taking a Disney Cruise to the Bahamas. I have heard excellent things about the kids programs. So I will have to share my experience when we return. Also my 16 year old sister is going to. My neighbors actually recommended this to us, they have 4 kids (7,10,14,17) and said each one of them had a blast.

Traci, you could come to San Diego!!!! We don't have all inclusive resorts that I know of, but you'd have a chance to see us! LOL

Look up Beaches resorts....Jamaica....kinda like a Sandals which for adults, the Beaches is family oriented.
I also did Club Med Cancun...you can get lots of deals in Cancun on the beach and have an all inclusive.
I have done the Caribbean, but alot do not cater to kids or teens.
Hawaii is great too. Maui....but you are better to stay in a condo and search out your own food. ** this is my fav...and July is a great time to go...cheaper and no lineups or reservations for things! **

That is the only place we have been to and Hubby wants to go back again !
It was beautiful ! I was up each morning to see the sun rise and coming up over the ocean was a site to see. They also have a "Discovery Camp" the kids can attend. I don't remember the age but at the time they were ten I think. You may want to check it out....

Siesta Key in Sarasota, Florida has some lovely white sand beaches. You can get excellent bargains on flights and hotels in July. I recomend Expedia.com as a good reliable source for vacation bookings.
I don't recommend cruises or the Caribbean for reasons of health and sanitation. Most cruise ships sail under foreign flags and there is no one in U.S. ports of call to inspect the kitchens and water supplies. As for Caribbean resorts, the tales of the squalor and dirt behind the public areas are sickening.
