I used to design matches and maintain a web site for a friend's
shooting range. It was my email address as the webmaster, a
combination of the street address and the type of matches we
ran. He took his own life a few years ago and I keep it as a sort
of memorial.

This is long...because I am tired...and you asked...read at your own peril! Severe sleepiness may occur, due to boredom! HAHA
Zenomia: Goodness...this has been my call name for eons! Back in the day...(1988) my first semester at college we had to come up with user names to log into the college intranet. Being young, and ridiculously NOT BUSY STUDYING...I searched and searched for something unique that wasn't already taken. For a week I searched...NADA. I couldn't find anything I wanted to be stuck with for four years. (That was back when the computers were still in black & white (or green) and everyone knew what DOS was!! ) So while searching through an ancient dictionary I LOVED ZEN. Which is a 'Japanese sect of Mahayana Buddhism that aims at enlightenment by direct intuition through meditation'. Of course, that was taken.
"OH MY"..was added at the end, because I couldn't find enlightenment in this stupid screen name and was investing now precious hours of college study time into this fruitless search for a name... Giving me Zenohmy. My BF at the time (now hubbie) said that name sounded too much like some kind of anal probe....
So...Zenomia....was born...it was less like a anal probe and more like a girls name. Plus it was really easy to find on a list...It was usually LAST!
I have had that name since 1988, because I am ANAL and take the simple task of coming up with a name entirely tooooooo seriously. (Staying with Zenohmy would have been more accurate...but not as pretty!!!) Lord knows how many years it would take my brain to now come up with something NEW....SHEESE...I am such a nut, it was easier to keep this...FOREVER. So if you ever see a Zenomia...anywhere else... odds are, IT'S ME!!
Don't blame me...YOU ASKED!

My name...
Midntsgirl was created in 1998 when I started dating a guy who's screen name was Midntmdnss (Midnite Madness) and I was his girl...so that's how I became Midntsgirl. Even after we broke up, I had already established e-mail addresses and it was too difficult to change them all around.

I have been called Snail by my sister forever.
People call me "layers" now because I wear at least 2 shirts and 2 jackets all at the same time with Ugg boots on a sunny day. Anemia and being thin=always cold.
Skinny and Sexy are my hubbies nicknames for me.
Most people call me Gail because they just can't get my name right.

I wanted to stay anonymous as I've kept my WLS secret from everyone except Hubby. In England gastric bypass surgery is in its early stages & thought of by the majority of the general public as "cheating". Obesity over here imho is sneered at & ridiculed in the media & sometimes collegues, family or your so called "friends" will show open disgust & make very nasty, hurtful comments & feel it is acceptable because "you brought it on yourself for having no control over eating". People here are openly very cruel when you are fat & it causes a lot of mental health problems ie; depression, agoraphobia etc.
So I decided to have a name that would not identify me, I don't want to cope with the negative comments & attitude that come with telling people about GBS. It's not likely that anyone I'm aquainted with may come across this site but you never know (My username is the same one on the UK site too). I chose Mercedes because I have always dreamed of having one, & last year we actually could afford & bought our first Mercedes. I love the word as a name too, unfortunately we have been unable to have our own children but if we'd had a little girl it would have probably been her name.

Mercedes, I vist the UK every year and as fat woman, I can second what you say about anti-fat discrimination over there. People have stared and have been rude to me in ways that wouldn't be tolerated here in the States.
And then there are those fattie-bashing sketches on Little Britain. Okay, I laugh, but the fattism on that show hurts. It's odd that they do so many ant-fattie skits when you think of how rotund the short little gay one of the duo is.

I was 15 and working at Subway, and we used to call Spicy italians "Spicy I's" when we had to make the meat set ups, so one night I was out and talking to this hot guy about my day. I told him I was late because I had to stay and make a bunch of "spicy I" set-ups and he said "you have spicy eyes".
And hence the nickname began and became a screen name on Yahoo the first time I owned a computer. And the "99" was the year my husband left me and my family bought me the computer so I could chat online and never leave home....(HA HA-like that worked out for them...I met more people online then at a bar!!).
It still sticks and I like it :-)

When I lived in Minneapolis, I really really wanted to move out here to San Diego. I also liked the name of the Riot Grrls, as it kind of "took back" the name girls. (My generation of feminized women were big on being called women and spelled it womon, womyn, etc. So even before I moved out here I adopted the screen name sdgrrl.
